StarWars Terrorist
NOT - Six commercial airliners in the past four days have had their cockpits illuminated by laser beams while attempting to land.
Officals do not know yet if kids were playing with their new laser-beam toys or if terrorists actually tried to crash the planes. Earlier, the FBI sent an intelligence bulletin to police agencies to alert them that terrorist groups have shown an interest in using laser beams to try to bring down airliners. With these beams they could damage the eye-sigth of the crew which could crash the plane.

Somebody read a Tom Clancy book!
hmmm, looks more like they are practicing to use a real bazooka one day
'Debt of Honor' to be exact.
In that same book someone used a 747 to attack the Capitol in Washington DC, years before 9/11.
Whoops. This is all my fault. I was using a laser pointer during a PowerPoint presentation and things went awry.
My bad.
Whatever it is, it is certainly not a kid trying out his X-mas present! I don't believe a comsumer laser poiner can shine 15 miles (24 km) far! And even if it could, you would need military accuracy to hit a target the size of a cocpit 25 miles away!
@tom, yeah right, to get some idea try finding a certain star with a telescope, that's hard. Then folloing a plane with a laser, you need fast guiding sytem for that
